Die Ausnahme heißt Miriam Helms Ålien: Die Norwegerin zeigt sich stupend virtuos mit Bartoks Sonate für Violine solo. Ein besonderes Talent.

Miriam and Bach - From the opening..It is like she puts a knife to my heart and keeps me in check every minute until the end of the Chacconne. It feels good, but also aching and piercing. Even though it makes it hard to breathe and see clearly - all I want is for her to continue playing when the deafening silence eventually fills the hall. 26th of June, the 17 years old Miriam Helms Ålien, held the hall in the palm of her hand. Firm. Authoratative. (...) But after hearing her play Bach again, I realize this is too valuable to keep to oneself. After hearing the girl from Alta perform once again, I wonder what in the world it is with her and Bach? This is the type of performance that almost risks converting an atheist. 

A rare talent As the soloist with the Arctic Philhamonic, Miriam Helms Ålien showed a musical maturity far beyond her age of 25. Helms Ålien gave the fully packed hall a musical demonstration fully confirming her status as one of the greatest talents in the country, regardless of instrument. (...) Miriam Helms Ålien has all the skills needed. She tackles the technical challenges easily. Still - it is her musicality, her ability to shape long distinct lines and providing us with a fully convincing and thoughtful interpretation that truly makes her stand out.

A triumph! - Miriam Helms Ålien's brilliant account of Mozart's 5th violin concerto became an experience few (in the audience) will forget. Speaking for myself, it will stay with me for a long, long time. (...) This became a rare musical experience. She has a spellbinding stage-presence, and a musicality we very seldomly hear from such young performers. (...) Her performance, and interaction with the orchestra, made this violin concerto one of the greatest musical experiences I have had in a very very long time, and is makes me land on the top rating. During her performance one could have hear the famous pin drop - that is how enchanted the audience was. I don't doubt for a second that the musical world will open all its doors for her. 

Sparkling in the home court - This concert showed with all obviousness that we cultural journalists can skip the word "talent" once and for all when it comes to Miriam Helms Ålien. Miriam has become a seasoned artist. Her technical prowess is undeniable. The emotions she puts into every stroke is huge, and her charisma is of the instant goosebump-creating category.
